November

The month of November has passed with my dear boy in my life. Hands down these have been two of the best months of my life. Every day I'm amazed at the tiny little differences in his facial expressions, strength and alertness. I love watching as his belly rounds out and then suddenly disappears as he grows in length only to start over a few days later. I marvel at the sounds that manage to come out of such a tiny body. During this month, baby E managed to roll over from front to back. Smiles have started to appear at random times and are now just starting in response to us. Best of all, he studies our faces when we are close.

Love you baby boy.

Random Question: How does one officially count 'months old' for a kiddo? Is it calendar months or groups of four weeks?

  1. Happy 2 months old to all of you! (No idea about the months old question; I assumed it was calendar but I don't have a child so don't really know.)

  3. I would always celebrate on the 16th for Christopher! We would put him with a teddy bear to see how big he had grown. It was cute. Then we didn't do that with the others...oops. Cute idea doing his month!

Your present is on its way!

  4. It's a calendar month... it doesn't make sense to go in groups of 4 weeks. It never really does, since a month is 4.3 weeks. That's why when people were 20 weeks pregnant and said they were 5 months it always bugged me. 5 months is 5 months. 20 weeks is like 4 months and a little bit. So whatever date of the month your LO was born, that date next month is when he's another month old. Trust me, once he gets past about 13 weeks old you will have no idea how many weeks he is anymore. So counting by 4 weeks to equal a month makes even less sense!

He is such a cutie pie. I love his little mouth!

  6. I count weeks for pregnancy, but the baby thing...I think it's the date. My sister and I were just talking about this! Soooo confusing. Stupid calendar! Happy 2 months, either way!

  7. Such a cutie! I think he's one day younger than my Ella. I count both--I'm taking pictures, like you, of both months and weeks. So I take a weekly photo every Thursday, and a monthly photo every 30th (I'll have to get creative in February).

  8. From a medical perspective, I was taught to base it off the birth date, not 4 weeks.

  10. He's getting cuter everyday! Wow...love the big eyes!

I say if you are counting months...go by calendar and if you are quoting weeks...go by weeks. Once our babies get past 12 weeks I always just did months...like 3 months or 4 1/2 months etc. It is personal preference really.
