The First U/S - Day 7 of stims

Quick update:

FairyEggs, Tink and I flew into California yesterday and went in for her first ultrasound today. She is on stim day seven and the doc quickly counted ten follicles that were just around eight millimeters. FairyEggs is incredibly upset about her eggs being small at this point. However, having been through it, I understand how it can take longer to stim and that an increase in meds can do a lot.

I think part of her felt like she was going to come in and be my white knight, the final key into helping me get knocked up. She always jokes, that being fertile is one things she is really good at! (This kind of pisses me off as she's an incredibly wonderful person) After my past experiences, I really don't count on anything until it happens in the world of IF because I know how things change. We talked a lot about it today as we were stuck in traffic coming home from the docs office. It's just so easy to get your hope knocked around in this process.

Please keep us in your thoughts. I'm taking her to Disneyland tomorrow, so I hopefully it will be a cheerful day. :)

  8. You are right, an increase in meds can do wonders. It is still early in the process, plenty of time for those eggs to mature and more to develop. Enjoy your time at Disney!

  11. My doctor often underestimated follicle counts and sizes in the early visits...and it's better to have slower growth that picks up near the end, anyway. Quality, not quantity! You only need a few good ones to get the job done! Hang on to hope!

  12. YES, hope does get knocked around in this process! After YEARS AND YEARS of IVFs and more, I'm pregnant -- but it's still very iffy at 7 weeks. And the bleeding/cramping makes my hopefulness go up and down like the craziest, steepest roller coaster in the world! this is my world: www.lifeinthewaitingwomb.blogspot.com

  13. Oh Jen, you wrote that post so beautifully, How exciting to have the first ultrasound under way, and as far as i'm concerned fairy eggs is still a white knight and she's also lucky to have you there with her to let her know that this whole process is not something that follows a set script. The IF gods make it up as they go along, but I have complete faith that they'll be working hard to make those 10 follies grow grow grow!!! xx enjoy disney, how cool!
