Who likes resting?

Resting is overrated when it is enforced. It's really only fun when it's a guilty pleasure nap that you take on a Friday afternoon after work or a lazy day in bed reading a favorite book. When you have a warden telling you that you can only roll on your side for five minutes at a time for not more than an hour? Torture!

And that's right, my dear dark sister is now my scary warden. "I wouldn't cross her either" said a family friend via text this morning.  However despite her torture techniques, she's really being quite an excellent sister in fetching whatever food I want including bagels and chinese food, occasionally handing me the remote control, and serving up some excellent glasses of water complete with a straw.

Since my parents left me to go on their annual wine trip up the coast, we have taken over their huge king size sleep number bed. Haha, take that! No seriously, they are super excited yesterday and my mom came over to rub my tummy and whisper sweet snuggly phrases to them. I normally would think it was kind of icky-sweet but the look on her face made me melt.

I hope this works. I hope this works.

xoxo

  2. Your sister and mom sound sooooo wonderful! So glad you're comfy and fed and resting - and if you don't like it, that's just too darn bad!!! :-)

  4. Go FairyBabes! I am in the "bedrest is vital" mode - although I don't have an angel sister making it easy (or hard, depending on your point of view!) But I'm definately laying around way more than I did for my other cycles - hopefully this is the trick and we'll both have huge betas next week!

  6. I am sooo not a dark evil sister. I am simply enforcing the protocols I learned from Dr. S on cycle #1 when I was with J. this summer. I keep telling those little embies to stick!!!!!

  7. It's gonna work! Andy wouldn't let me move either. I took a week off after the transfer and laid on the couch the. entire. time.

It's really sweet of your sister to take care of you through this:) You're very lucky! Thinking of you!

  11. I COMPLETELY agree about the bedrest being sucky. Good luck.
Had to laugh abut your mom. I am one of those pregnant ladies who HATES to have my belly rubbed or talked to by anyone but my DH. But yesterday DH gave me a little pat when he told my (almost) three year old niece that it was a boy and she reached over to pat and rub it, while smiling and saying, "It's a boy like [her brother's name]!" It was adorable!! Hehe
I hope you get a good reason to be icked out by lots of tummy rubs and talks over the next several months!!! :)
