35 weeks 4 days

Bedrest Chronicles Day 59

Weekly appointment with my favorite doc showed my cervix shortened to one cm with some dilation despite the stitch. My stitch is coming out next Thursday at my regular appointment in the office. The nurse advised me to take some Tylenol beforehand as it's going to hurt. Imagine that? You are pulling a stitch out where skin has probably grown over and around it. That's going to feel great! lol. I don't think it will be any worse than childbirth right?

Any bets on when he's coming?

  1. Not to mention anything cervix related is never terribly comfortable. Hmmm, I don't want to jinx you, but I don't think baby is going to hang on much after it comes out...But I won't hazard a specific guess.

  2. If you have any Tylenol with codeine or Darvocet at home, taking one would be perfectly safe (per my OB).

And I give you up to a week. Let's say right at 37 weeks (if your appointment next week is your 36-week). Baby E will be here before you know it!

  3. 35 weeks 4 days! You're doing so well at being up-beat (or that's what it sounds like here at least). No idea when he's coming. Apparently not necessarily as soon as the stitch comes out, but if things are happening to that cervix of ours already who knows??

  5. 10.10.10 would be a cool day to be born...I was hoping you could hold until my birthday but I think he'll come a little sooner. I think...10/12/10. Hang in there!

  6. Ouch! The very thought of it gives me the heeby-jeebies! I'm guessing 10.10.10 (unless that's actually before the stitch comes out).

I guess 37-38 weeks should be it?

  8. Me? I'm betting on the 9th. Because it's clear that the baby really really wants to be out there and meet you! (take the tylenol with the good stuff in it -- that sounds PAINFUL!)

  9. Oh wow - you're getting to the end! Removing the stitches, and for that matter, childbirth sounds very scary and painful. But you're one seriously strong lady, so no big deal for you, right?

I vote 10/10/10 - how cool would that be???

  10. Personally, I think you've got another 2 weeks or so. Can't wait to hear the progress.
